The Role:

Our client based in Blackpool is looking to grow their finance team with the addition of a finance manager. This company with office across Europe offer a fantastic platform for someone to develop their finance career.

This would be an excellent opportunity for an ACCA / CIMA or ACA newly qualified Accountant. You will enjoy plenty of support, coaching and mentoring from a highly approachable FC, where you will also have the chance to showcase your skills and be given autonomy and responsibility for projects surrounding making improvements and enhancing processes / controls. This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to gain experience in the areas of accountability when running a finance department, within a much larger group.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Production of the monthly accounts for two legal entities, across two systems, MS Business Central (formerly Navision) and Infor - CSI. The month-end process will include:
  • All balance sheet reconciliations, inclusive of Fixed Assets, Accruals, Prepayments, Debtors and Creditors.
  • Profit and loss statement plus variance analysis.
  • Group consolidation into Oracles Hyperion - HFM.
  • Preparing and submitting VAT Returns.
  • Annual budget and forecasting requirements.
  • Statutory Reporting
  • Cash flow forecasting
  • Support Payroll and Pension processing
  • Capital Expenditure post completion reviews.
  • Cash management, including the authorisation of adhoc payments via the bank.
  • Weekly review of COGS transactions, liaising with Operations to improve processes and data accuracy.
  • Management of 2 transactional finance staff and 1 assistant accountant.
  • Reviewing stock aging and determining appropriate treatment.
  • General sales analysis.
  • Other ad-hoc duties as required.

Person Specification

  • A self-starter who can manage their own workload and deal with a variety of demands.
  • Confident and self-aware with the ability to communicate professionally.
  • Able to build and sustain long-term professional relationships.
  • Can identify and develop solutions to meet business needs and goals.
  • Good with data, ensuring accurate system information is maintained.
  • Able to maintain performance and prioritise work in stressful and challenging circumstances.
  • Effective organisation skills to ensure priorities, goals and deadlines are met, and detailed work plan is produced for department and key stakeholders.
  • Ideally you will be qualified CIMA, ACCA, ACA or qualified by experience
