Spencer Clarke Group are looking for Cover Supervisors to join to work within secondary schools across Blackpool & The Fylde Coast Being a Cover Supervisor is a highly responsible position with daily variations. Typically working with students aged 11-16, cover supervisors facilitate pre-planned lessons in the absence of the regular class teacher. Covering multiple subjects, they must manage classroom behaviour to ensure students remain engaged in a safe and productive learning environment. This role is not a teaching position, so no teaching qualifications or prior experience are required. For those considering a future in teaching, this is a valuable opportunity to gain relevant experience.This role is flexible and can accommodate other personal or work commitments. Typically work is available 1 to 5 days a week, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 3 PM and during school term time.Expected Duties will include:
- Delivering work set by the class teacher.
- Managing student behaviour to ensure they stay focused on the assigned tasks.
- Answering student questions during the lesson.
- Handling immediate issues or emergencies according to school policies and procedures.
- Reporting any problems or behavioural issues as per school policies.
What we are looking for:
- Excellent communication skills.
- Confidence in leading a class and managing challenging behaviour.
- Experience working with children or young people in any setting, including volunteer work or placements - not essential but certainly is beneficial.
- Adaptability and confidence.
- Background experiences which would certainly help you in this role would be; sport coaching, holiday clubs, dance instructor, swimming instructor or interested in becoming a teacher.
