LRL are currently recruiting for a Service Engineer / Plant Mechanic for a well-established engineering and manufacturing company based in Blackpool.

Salary: 30,000 - 33,000 per annum + Overtime

Hours: 40hours per week, Monday - Thursday, 8:00am-17:00pm and Friday 8:00am - 14:30pm. Overtime available.

Responsibilities

  • To carry out safety critical repairs, modifications and maintenance to road/rail excavators and equipment used within the rail industry, in the workshop, at customer's facilities or on site as required.
  • Assist in the ongoing manufacture of new and innovative machinery
  • The repair and maintenance of plant and equipment, including modifications and upgrades of plant and machinery
  • Examination and repair of faults on plant and equipment
  • Diagnostics testing
  • Evaluate information and data interpretation of technical information
  • Installing safety and productivity systems to machinery
  • Assembling and testing of new build machinery
  • Provide support in special projects/scheduled servicing of vehicles and plant

Required Qualifications

  • NVQ 3 or equivalent - in engineering trade
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • An eye for detail and good design
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent people and time management skills
  • The ability to work well both as part of a team and on your own
  • PTS Certification (desirable)
  • Road/Rail maintenance competency certificate (desirable)
  • Forklift truck driving (desirable)
