Senior Tool Design Engineer

Role details:

We're working with an agile, high-growth engineering SME who provide mechanical design solutions to a variety of clients in the aviation, defence and space sectors.

They are looking for a Senior Tool Design Engineer to deliver optimised products for their customers - utilising design, analysis and additive manufacturing solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Create mechanical design data including 3D models, 2D drawings, schemes and Bill of Material data.
  • Checking design data.
  • Component / Tool check and buyoff.
  • Providing support to manufacturing / design supply chains.
  • Assisting the Design Manager with training, quotations, project management, and customer liaison.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 4 years relevant experience.
  • A sound tool-design background, both creation of conceptual tool designs and development of the design to final product delivery.
  • The ability to provide life-cycle support of tooling from concept design to in-service liaison with the customer.
  • The ability to independently check CAD models, DWGs, methodology, designing for manufacture, BOMs, Poka-Yoke, ergonomics / HMI.

Eligibility:

To be considered for the role, you must be a sole UK National and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years.
