We are recruiting for Professionalising Investigation Programme (PIP) 2 trained crime investigators to support a police investigation team based in Blackpool, Lancashire.

Key Responsibilities

The purpose of this role is to manage and participate in a wide range of evidence gathering and investigation duties for serious/complex crime concerning vulnerable adults, ensuring that any evidence obtained is recorded, secured and preserved in a timely and appropriate manner.

Key skills

  • PIP2 or equivalent with recent experience of investigating serious crime
  • Good communication skills, in particular listening and questioning skills, with the ability to engage effectively and demonstrate empathy with and understanding of people from diverse communities and backgrounds, sometimes in potentially confrontational situations.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, the ability to think logically and the ability to gather and record information effectively within set procedures, in an easily understood format and style.
  • Problem solving and decision making skills with the ability to effectively analyse information and to identify and assess risk and vulnerability in order to set priorities.
  • Experience of working within a team environment with demonstrable organisational and time management skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities and to work effectively under pressure.
  • Ideally you will be Tier Three Interview trained and have experience of investigating major crime
  • Good IT skills with the ability to learn and effectively utilise new systems in order to extract and analyse data to progress/record investigations.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence

These are temporary roles for an initial 12 months, working part-time (27 hrs or 24 hrs per week) paying between £16.22 per hour PAYE.
