We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Primary Teacher to join our SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) School. In this role, you will be instrumental in providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students who require additional emotional and behavioural support. Day to day of the role:

  • Develop and deliver engaging, differentiated lesson plans tailored to the individual needs of students with SEMH challenges.
  • Create a nurturing and safe classroom environment that fosters emotional well-being and positive social interactions.
  • Effectively implement behaviour management strategies to support students in developing self-regulation skills.
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to create a collaborative learning community.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized education plans.
  • Monitor student progress, ensuring accurate record-keeping and reporting.
  • Engage in professional development to enhance teaching skills and stay informed on SEMH best practices.
  • Encourage a love of learning, curiosity, and resilience among students.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field, with a focus on Primary Education.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
  • Experience teaching in a primary school setting, with SEMH education experience or training preferred.
  • Understanding of SEMH needs and effective support strategies.
  • Knowledge of the primary curriculum and differentiated instruction techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
