Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic General Teaching Assistant to join our Year 4 team at a primary school in Blackpool. This is a full-time position, and while general classroom support is the primary focus, candidates with experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN) are highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons across the curriculum.
  • Provide general assistance to the Year 4 class, including 1:1 and small group support for students.
  • Help implement tailored learning strategies for pupils, especially those with SEN, to ensure every child can access the curriculum.
  • Assist with classroom organization, lesson preparation, and administrative tasks.
  • Monitor student progress and report back to the class teacher.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel supported.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant (experience in SEN is preferred but not essential).
  • A relevant qualification in supporting teaching and learning (desirable but not essential).
  • A good understanding of classroom management and child development.
  • Empathy, patience, and a passion for working with children.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
