Job Description

We are currently looking for a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team based in Blackpool.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities, and other documentation.
  • Involvement in PQQs and ITTs where required
  • Procure cost-effective quotations for materials and services.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure smooth project execution and address any financial or contractual concerns.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress and perform cost control activities, identifying and mitigating potential overruns.
  • Evaluate and process contractor payments, variations, and claims in a timely and fair manner.
  • Provide financial reports and forecasts to management (eg CVR, WIP etc), enabling informed decision-making.
  • Ensure adherence to public sector procurement rules and regulations, maintaining the highest standards of transparency and integrity.
  • Manage variations, working accounts and final accounts in collaboration with the project team. Raise valuations and applications for payment as required.

Requirements for the role:

  • BSc in Quantity Surveying
  • GCSE Maths & English (required)
  • Construction based BTEC or NVQ (preferred)
  • Competent with all Microsoft packages and IT (required)
  • Driving license (required)
  • Experience working as a Contractors QS
