My client is a successful Group of Hotels who provide exceptional experiences and services to their customers, With a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, they are constantly expanding and innovating. They are looking for an experienced Purchase Ledger Assistant to join their finance team and support their growing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Invoice Processing: Accurately process and code supplier invoices, ensuring they are matched to purchase orders and receipts.
  • Supplier Payments: Prepare and process supplier payments, including BACS and cheque runs, ensuring all payments are made in a timely manner.
  • Account Reconciliation: Reconcile supplier statements to the ledger, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Expense Management: Manage and process employee expense claims, ensuring adherence to company policies.
  • Queries and Communication: Handle supplier queries promptly and professionally, building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all purchase ledger transactions, ensuring compliance with company policies and audit requirements.
  • Reporting: Assist in the preparation of month-end reports and provide support during audits.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Purchase Ledger Assistant or in a similar finance role
  • Strong knowledge of purchase ledger processes and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to work.
