JOB TITLE - Outreach Worker

Prospero Teaching are seeking an enthusiastic Outreach Worker to support children with SEMH in a school in Blackpool. You must drive as you are required to work in both the school and local community.

To be successful in this role, you will be confident in liasing with social services, parents and staff to best support the young people. Previous experience is behaviour management techniques is essential in order to manage the behaviour of the young people and help them to engage within the school setting.

All the young people that you will be working with will have an education and health care plan (EHCP) which you will be able to refer to.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience working as an Outreach Worker or in a similar role.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with students, parents and staff.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.
  • Strong understanding of child development.
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
