If so, we want you to join our dedicated team as a Team Leader / Service Manager for the Blackpool Learning Disability Service!

The Role:As a Team Leader / Service Manager, you will provide individualized, person-centered support to individuals with learning disabilities living in their own homes. Your role will be pivotal in enabling them to lead fulfilling lives, engage with their community, and develop their personal abilities to the fullest.

Main Responsibilities/Duties:

  1. Develop and sustain warm and trusting relationships with service users.
  2. Promote the self-esteem, happiness, and emotional health of service users.
  3. Respect the individual's right to privacy, maintaining their dignity at all times.
  4. Encourage and support service users in expressing their needs, views, and concerns.
  5. Facilitate choices and decisions, enabling service users to be actively involved in planning and decision-making processes.
  6. Advocate for the rights and entitlements of individuals with learning disabilities, promoting community participation.
  7. Respond to individual needs within the framework of Person Centered Plans, adapting to changing circumstances.
  8. Support service users in developing independence across various life skills, including social interactions, personal care, and daily living.

You'll accomplish this through providing practical assistance, teaching, encouragement, and positive feedback, while using effective strategies to manage challenging behaviors in alignment with individualized plans.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary starting at £12.80 per hour, increasing to £12.90 based on experience and qualifications.
  • Flexible working hours on a rota system, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins when required.
  • 20 days of annual leave plus 8 statutory days, pro-rata for part-time employees.
  • Sleep-over payments for shifts requiring staff to stay overnight.
  • Opportunities for part-time work starting from 15 hours per week.
