Job Title: Band 6 Social Worker - CAMHS

Location: Blackpool

Contract: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (flexibility available)

About the Role

We are seeking a committed and skilled locum Social Worker to join a dynamic team, specialising in Triage and Duty support for young people in crisis. This is a community-based role, primarily supporting young people with complex needs and mental health challenges both in crisis situations and through ongoing support. There is potential for one day per week of remote working once your caseload is established.

Key Responsibilities
  • Triage & Assessment: Conduct triage for new referrals, provide crisis intervention on the ward and in the community, and complete routine assessments.
  • Documentation & Referrals: Maintain accurate assessment paperwork, conduct risk assessments, and create safety and care plans. Coordinate with relevant agencies and make referrals as needed.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with partner agencies such as children’s services and safeguarding teams to ensure holistic support for young people.
  • Support Work: Provide sessional support, following up with young people in crisis and facilitating their safe return to services.
  • Caseload Management: Manage a caseload of young people with complex needs, escalating any concerns to supervisors and prioritizing based on risk and complexity.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with the CAMHS team, offering support and seeking guidance when necessary.
Requirements
  • Experience: Background in social work, specifically with triage, duty, or similar responsibilities in a high-risk, complex environment. Experience holding a caseload and managing risk is essential.
  • Car driver: Ability to travel locally as required to meet with young people and attend team meetings on-site.
  • Skills: Strong organisational skills, adaptability, and the ability to work with high-risk, complex cases.
