Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 CAMHS Practitioner to join their team in Blackpool at the Whitegate Health Centre. This is an ongoing role, offering a competitive hourly rate of £30 - £35 depending on your experience. Core working hours are 9-5, Monday to Friday, with flexibility available around start and finish times to suit your lifestyle. Part-time options are also considered.

What you will do:

  •  Manage a defined caseload using your specialist knowledge and advanced clinical reasoning to carry out assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care programs for children and families.
  • Engage actively in the holistic assessment and treatment of young people presenting with mental health issues, especially those at risk of or having attempted deliberate self-harm.
  • Liaise with and refer to relevant agencies to ensure effective communication and deliver a comprehensive care package for young people, their families, and carers.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Offer therapeutic interventions that are evidence-based and comply with NICE guidelines.
  • Maintain confidentiality of clients’ information at all times, ensuring high standards of clinical record keeping and professional conduct.
  • Exercise professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment, and discharge of young people and their families/carers.
  • Provide detailed assessment and therapy services, interpreting complex data from various sources including psychological assessments and interviews.
  • Undertake risk assessments and management strategies for individual clients.
  • - Act as an advocate, facilitating the views and choices of children, young people, families, groups, and communities as appropriate.
