Randstad are recruiting a Qualified Social Worker to join Blackpool Council's Cared for Children team as an IRO. This is a full time role, offering a fantastic pay rate of £40 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and chair regular statutory reviews for children in care, ensuring their care plans are robust, relevant, and in the child's best interest.
  • Continuously monitor the implementation of children's care plans to ensure they are meeting statutory requirements and aligned with the child's needs, development, and wishes.
  • Ensure the child's voice is central to the planning and review process by advocating for their needs and rights, ensuring their views are heard and considered at every stage.
  • Challenge local authority decisions and escalate concerns when necessary, ensuring timely interventions to safeguard the child's well-being.
  • Contribute to the overall quality assurance of services by identifying areas for improvement in care planning and practice and providing feedback to social work teams and management.
  • Liaise with social workers, foster carers, health professionals, education providers, and other stakeholders to ensure a holistic and coordinated approach to the child's care.
  • Prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate records of review meetings, decisions, and recommendations in line with organizational policies and legal requirements.
  • Ensure that all care planning and reviewing processes comply with statutory frameworks, including the Children Act 1989 and relevant regulations.
  • Act as a safeguarding lead during reviews, ensuring all potential safeguarding concerns are identified and addressed promptly.

Requirements:

  • Social Work England registered
  • Enhanced DBS
  • Social Work Degree or equivalent
