Your new companyThis college is based in the Blackpool area and has an excellent reputation not just in the North West, but across the UK for the high standard of education they provide to students in the Fylde area. The college has a technology team of over 25, and the IT Director has recently approached Hays looking to add a Senior Systems Developer to their well-established team. The Systems Developer will become an integral part of the team, being welcomed by the team and fully supported throughout your new role at the college. Your new roleReporting to the Business Systems Development Team Lead, you will be joining a team of 6 where you will be responsible for supporting, maintaining and developing core applications, as well as system interfaces, integrations and APIS. Please note for this role, the team are not looking for a web developer, but for a professional who has experience with Microsoft SQL and experience in troubleshooting various technologies and applications, therefore also allowing you to further develop your knowledge of different technologies and systems. On a daily basis, you will be providing timely, efficient and proactive troubleshooting, diagnostics and resolution of incidents relating to all systems utilised across the college. This will therefore require support with enhancements, integrations and interfaces between existing systems, as well as being heavily involved in the development of new systems and digital processes. In addition, you will also be required to produce documentation which relates to all business systems and therefore also work collaboratively with the wider technology team and senior stakeholders. What you'll need to succeedTo be successful in securing this position, you must have significant systems development experience, with experience working with Microsoft SQL and REST APIs as essential, however with experience in other systems such as Dynamics, PowerBI, PowerApps, SSIS and Powershell are beneficial. You will have a passion for working with systems and technologies, with a proactive approach to troubleshooting and a keen interest in working with a wider IT/Technology team.
