Ribble Education is currently recruiting for a passionate and resilient individual to join a supportive secondary school in Blackpool. This dual-role position involves providing behavioural support within the Student Services Room as well as acting as a Cover Supervisor across various classes when needed.

This is a full-time, long-term role ideal for someone who thrives on making a difference in the lives of young people, especially those with challenging behaviours or special educational needs (SEN).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students emotionally and academically in the Student Services Room.
  • Help manage challenging behaviour using de-escalation strategies and positive reinforcement.
  • Provide 1:1 or small group support for students with additional needs.
  • Supervise classes during teacher absence, ensuring students remain on task.
  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons and manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
  • Build positive relationships with students and staff to foster a safe and supportive environment.
  • Liaise with teaching staff and SENCO regarding student progress and concerns.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with challenging behaviour or SEN.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Able to provide employment references covering the last 2 years.
  • Patient, calm, and understanding with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Confident managing classroom dynamics and behaviour effectively.
