About the Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO to provide support to students across the school, both in and out of the classroom. Your role will be to help students access the curriculum, develop their independence, and build their confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with individual students or small groups to support their learning in various subjects.
  • Helping students to understand instructions and complete tasks.
  • Adapting learning materials under the direction of the teacher.
  • Providing encouragement and motivation to students.
  • Supporting students with their social and emotional well-being.
  • Assisting with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Helping to manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
  • Providing feedback to the class teacher on student progress and any challenges.
  • Assisting with the personal care needs of students, where required and appropriate.
  • Supervising students during break times and lunchtimes, as needed.
  • Contributing to a positive and inclusive school environment.
  • Following school policies and procedures, particularly those relating to safeguarding and confidentiality.
  • Participating in relevant training and professional development opportunities.
