Teaching Assistant (SEND) - Behaviour Unit

Tradewind are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant to work in a mainstream Secondary School in Blackpool. You will need to be flexible across general classroom cover as well as supporting pupils with additional learning needs, challenging behaviour and physical disabilities. You will be working across KS3 and KS4.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting teachers in the classroom, providing support to individual students, and helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. They will have experience working with students with ASD and SEMH needs and be able to adapt their teaching approach to meet the unique needs of each student. Preferably experience working in a Secondary school setting.

Duties will include:

  • Assisting teachers in the classroom and providing support to individual students
  • Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Adapting teaching approach to meet the unique needs of each student
  • Working with students with ASD and SEMH needs
  • Collaborating with teachers and other staff to develop and implement individualised education plans
