Hays Education have seen an increased need for local behaviour mentors and behaviour specialised teaching assistants across Blackpool for both day-to-day and long-term supply opportunities.Role Overview:We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Mentor/Teaching Assistant to work in a secondary school based in Blackpool. The successful candidate will work closely with students, teachers, and parents to promote positive behaviour and support students in overcoming barriers to learning. You will support students on a 1:1 and smaller intervention basis both inside and outside the classroom. Your role is pivotal in aiding the academic and social development of the students within the school.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group mentoring for students to improve behaviour and academic performance.
  • Develop and implement behaviour management plans tailored to individual student needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create a positive learning environment.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, maintaining accurate records.
  • Engage with parents and guardians to support student development and address behavioural concerns.
  • Deliver workshops and training sessions on behaviour management strategies.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting is essential.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies is essential.
  • Certification in Team Teach would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping young people succeed.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or a related field are desirable.
