Are you an Inspirational Learning Mentor looking for a full time long term contract?

Tradewind Preston are delighted to be working with an Alternative Provision with Blackpool to recruit an experienced Learning Mentor to start in January 2025 on a long-term contract. This position will run until at least July 2025 with the potential to go permanent.

The successful candidate will work closely with staff and children to provide high quality in-class support, as well as leading targeted interventions and support for pupils. Classes have a maximum of 6 pupils in each.

The ideal candidate for this role will have had a minimum of 6 months experience working within Alternative Provisions or similar settings. Experience delivering small group and 1:1 intervention within Maths, Science or English to Functional Skills/ GCSE level.

The school has close links with the motorway with a large car park.

  • To join us and be successful in this Learning Mentor role you will need to:
  • Develop and implement pupil's Individual Educational Plans.
  • Support pupils as part of a planned inclusion programme.
  • Develop positive relationships with pupils and staff to assist pupil progress and attainment.
  • Monitor and evaluate pupil responses to learning activities.
  • Monitor and record progress and achievement in lessons/activities systematically and provide evidence of range and level of progress and achievement.
  • To produce lesson plans and worksheet plans.
  • Hold Level 3 or Degree Qualified
  • Knowledge and understanding working with challenging behaviour, trauma and Social and Emotional behavioural difficulties
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure
  • Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained
  • You must have the legal right to work in the UK
