We are seeking a skilled Operations Mechanic to join our client based in Blackwood. This role involves performing a variety of tasks related to the Maintenance Repair Overhaul (MRO) and production of aircraft components. The ideal candidate will have a background in aerospace or mechanical assembly and be committed to maintaining high standards of quality, cost, and delivery.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Perform disassembly, repair, assembly, and testing tasks on structural assemblies, metal and composite bonded structures, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Ensure the accomplishment and quality of your own work, adhering to regulatory requirements and standard operating procedures.
  • Interpret aircraft blueprints, technical data, and parts specific planning.
  • Install solid and cherry rivets, jo-bolts, and hi-loks, and perform close tolerance work including trimming, hole drilling, and fastener installation.
  • Understand work scope requirements, documentation procedures, and have a working knowledge of parts within the evaluation period.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience using close tolerance measuring tools such as scales, micrometers, calipers, and depth gauges.
  • Proficient in using hand tools like drill motors, fastener installation tools, die grinders, and rivet guns.
  • Preference for candidates with an aerospace background and/or mechanical assembly skills.
  • Experience in auto body, sheet metal, bonded structures, structural assembly, hydraulic systems, and tool fabrication is advantageous.
