I am currently recruiting for a Repair Engineer on behalf of my client based in Wales. My client is a leading aerospace company, seeking an experienced Repair Engineer who will be required to provide a high level of support to the workshop and design repair schemes under their EASA/ UK CAA 145 and UK CAA Part 21J approval. As the Repair Engineer you will be familiar with aircraft engine nacelles, composites materials, repair design practices and procedures and have a sound understanding of aerospace repair processes

Location: Wales
Shift Pattern: Monday- Friday 37.5 Hours a Week
Responsibilities:
- You will work with the operational teams and mechanics on the shop floor assessing aircraft damage to determine structurally acceptable and cost-effective repair schemes for a wide variety of aerospace component defects, including metallic and composite to a standard that satisfies EASA/UKCAA requirements.
- You will consult with OEM's regulatory bodies and/or vendors on technical issues.
- Identify and source materials
- You will be expected to support the production workshops and other support departments on all technical issues.
- Carry out stress analysis in support of the repair approval process.
- Produce technical reports of modules/components as required by the customer.
- Provide full technical support to production teams using sound material and process knowledge
- Provide input into the business for process and technological improvements.
- Carry out damage investigations and compile reports
- To continually drive towards new repair procedures that will reduce costs and turn-times.
- Manage the introduction of new products.
- You will be required to attend and pass the Boeing part 1 Structural Repair course, and any other relevant courses as needed.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- Full rights to live and work in the UK required upon application.
- Aerospace background with a minimum of HNC or equivalent in an appropriate engineering discipline/degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering
- Ideally you will have 5 years' experience within the aerospace industry and a repair design background, but would consider 3 years.
- Proven record of producing solutions to challenging engineering projects
- Must be able to interpret technical documentation provided from several different sources and convert for use with the business.
- Should be computer literate with the ability to draw basic engineering drawings using CATIA, or similar packages such as SolidWorks, auto cad.
- Possess good interpersonal skills to interact with other people, internally and externally and able to provide a high standard of both written and oral communication to all levels of the business whether formal or informal.
- Must be able to work on own initiative, with a minimum of supervision as well as work well as part of a team.
- Must be able to work well in a busy environment and able to set and manage multiple priorities working to set targets.
- Ability to travel without restrictions as and when required for business needs.
