Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - £40,600 + Bonus | Blackwood | Permanent | Shifts

Are you an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with a background in turning and milling?

Key Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering proactive and reactive maintenance across operational equipment and site infrastructure.
  • Creating and repairing spare parts using machining techniques, working with tool steel, nylon, and mild steel.
  • Performing mechanical fitting tasks, including bearing replacements, shaft alignment, and machine assembly.
  • Improving and implementing Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules to enhance machinery efficiency through Root Cause Analysis techniques.

Essential Criteria

To excel in this role, you'll need:

  • Time-served, apprentice-trained qualifications in Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least two years of hands-on experience in mechanical fitting with knowledge of mechanical fitting routines such as belt tensioning, gearbox assembly, and hydraulic or pneumatic system maintenance.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt under pressure.
