Our client are seeking a Repair Process Engineer to join their Engineering team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in aerospace and is offering a competitive salary of up to 45,000.
Day-to-day of the role:- Work closely with operational teams and mechanics on the shop floor to assess aircraft damage and determine structurally acceptable and cost-effective repair schemes for a variety of aerospace component defects, including metallic and composite, to satisfy EASA/UKCAA requirements.
- Consult with OEMs, regulatory bodies, and vendors on technical issues.
- Identify and source necessary materials.
- Support production workshops and other departments on all technical issues.
- Conduct stress analysis to support the repair approval process.
- Produce technical reports of modules/components as required by customers.
- Provide full technical support to production teams using extensive material and process knowledge.
- Conduct damage investigations and compile reports.
- Drive the development of new repair procedures to reduce costs and turnaround times.
- Aerospace background with a minimum of HNC or equivalent in an appropriate engineering discipline, or a degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering.
- Ideally 5 years’ experience within the aerospace industry and a repair design background, though candidates with 3 years’ experience may also be considered.
- Proven record of producing solutions to challenging engineering projects.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation from various sources and adapt it for business use.
