Quick Staff UK is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced Toolmaker to join its client on a permanent basis. Based in the Blackwood area, the successful Toolmaker will work for an established manufacturing organisation. The Toolmaker will repair, modify and maintain existing production tooling and manufacture jigs, fixtures and new plastic injection mould tooling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planned preventative maintenance and servicing of plastic injection mould tooling.
  • Improvement of tooling.
  • Safety checks & inspections.
  • Resolution / repair of breakdowns, quickly and effectively to minimize production downtime.
  • Working safely at all times, in line with company procedures.
  • Safeguarding company resources.
  • Communicating with production and other stakeholders within the company.
  • Working with external contractors.
  • Assist with procuring Toolroom stock
  • Keeping maintenance records up to date.
  • Working on your own initiative and as part of a team, working to a shift pattern.

Key Requirements:

  • City and Guilds 228
  • NVQ Level 3 in mechanical engineering
  • Experience of milling, turning and grinding
  • Time served apprenticeship.
  • Experience of plastic injection mould tooling
  • Must be a problem solver
  • Strong decision maker
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to read engineering drawings

Hours of work:
Monday to Friday
No weekends / no bank holidays / no nights!
6am-2pm (Early) / 8.30am-4.30pm (Days) / 2pm-10pm (Afters)
Shift Pattern (on a 5 rotation) Days/Days/Early/Days/Afters

Salary:
36,432p.a
