Job Title: Purchasing Assistant

Location: Blackwood

Salary: £25,000-£28,000 per annum

Hours: Full time. Monday - Friday, days regular 37.5 hours a week, start time can be slightly flexible

Here at The Recruitment Co, we are recruiting s Purchasing Assistant to work for a company based in Blackwood.

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the candidate will play an integral part of the team supporting on key functions within the department including raising purchase orders, liaising with suppliers to ensure parts are delivered when required, ensure traceability and Quality Assurance of purchased parts, liaising with production to update status on materials and transact on priorities, liaise with Stores, Shipping and Finance to resolve any queries, communicate well with suppliers and internal customers, supporting master data updates and some administrative duties. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive and flexible approach to the buying role, have strong team values and participate in continuous improvement activities.

  • Excellent internal and external customer relationship and interpersonal skills

  • Effective written and oral communication skills

  • Team player with strong work ethic and ability to adapt to and drive change

  • Commercially minded, Attention to detail

  • Strong organisation and time management skills

  • Self-Motivated, behaves in a professional manner at all times

  • Able to deliver at a consistently high level in a demanding, commercial environment

Education and Experience

  • Supply chain or Procurement experience

  • IT literate with spreadsheet knowledge

  • Experience working with a MRP/ERP and SAP system.

  • Experience working in a legislative environment and familiar working with procedures/systems
