Senior Design Engineer

This is an exciting opportunity that would suit a Design Engineer looking for that next step of growth and development. You will be working on a variety of expanding and exciting projects with a diverse range of customers.

Within this role you will be working directly for the Senior Management team, supporting the development of complex and novel engineering solutions. As Senior Design Engineer you will be responsible for designing, mechanical and electrical and hydraulic system designs for railway and mobile machines.

Duties & Responsibilities

Ensure the provision of efficient high quality engineering design projects.

Effectively manage own time which will be necessary when allocated to more than one project.

Check/review engineering analysis and design to both Euro-norms and British Standards.

Assist in mentoring and training the broader team.

Prepare, update and compile the latest assembly/build documentation (General assembly, sub-system assembly, schematics and build notes) and prepare a document pack prior to the start of build.

Be responsible for ensuring the assembly/build documentation are kept up to date during (FOT) assembly.

Support Production with development of new projects.

Work with the compliance team assisting with supporting documentation for technical & product acceptance.

Support the compliance and assurance deliverables

Skills, Qualifications and experience

 Self-driven with ability to learn.

Highly Proficient in Solidworks CAD packages including FEA simulation add-in.

Willingness and desire to develop

Rail background preferred but not essential

Minimum BSc/BEng Mechanical Engineering or similar

Proven experience working in engineering design environment
