Robert Half is delighted to be partnering with a leading utilities provider in their search for a permanent Finance Analyst.

Our client is a rapidly growing and successful company with a strong customer base across the UK, including some of the largest companies and public sector organisations. This newly created role will work closely with the company's Finance Team while also reporting directly to the primary investor. Key responsibilities will include conducting in-depth financial and operational analysis to identify areas for improvement and developing strategies to enhance efficiency and productivity.

Role Requirements

  • Analysis: Producing financial and/or operational insights and analysis from large data extracts including statistical analysis where analysis includes consideration of competitive landscape, operational change, regulatory change or the macro environment.
  • Reporting and monitoring: Compile reporting (incl. dashboards) to monitor operating or financial metrics against benchmarks, monitor performance and reporting thereon.
  • Benchmarking: Producing benchmarks to report against from historical data, industry peers or market data.
  • Creating an environment and culture where everyone is or becomes proficient in using key company systems, related to their area of responsibility.
  • High Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Office, Power BI and a number of the following would be desirable Python coding, R Databases, SQL.
  • Understands regulatory requirements and the company code of ethics and applies these to all tasks.
  • Undertakes all mandatory training required by the company including GDPR, Equality & Diversity. Undertaking continuous professional development
  • Taking responsibility for self-development.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent academic record with Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Business, Accounting or relevant accounting qualification, CA, ACA, ACCA or CIMA
  • High Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Office, Power BI and a number of the following would be desirable Python coding, R Databases, SQL
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
  • High proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques and financial modelling.
  • Ability to work both independently but also as part of a team, working collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Independent and critical / first principles thinker.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to establish relationships and efficiently engage with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Preferably experience dealing with large volumes of customer data
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines.

On offer is a highly competitive base salary and benefits package. The role will offer hybrid working, with the requirement of at least one day in the office per week.
