We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Industrial Chemist for our client in Blandford. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining the chemical processes involved in plating and effluent systems, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety standards, and supporting production activities. This role requires strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of chemical processes, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sample, test, analyse, and report on all chemistry in the plating and effluent systems.
  • Adjust chemistry levels to maintain within tolerance.
  • Check the status of the effluent system and take any required actions.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, and check machines for damage, breakage, or other potential faults. Report and take corrective action as necessary.
  • Check stock levels of chemicals, order as necessary.
  • Receive, check, and record stock receipts, and store safely.
  • Clean out and maintain the effluent system.
  • Report to and participate in the Environmental Committee.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience in an industrial chemistry role, preferably in electro-plating or a similar environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with ISO9001 and ISO14001 standards.
  • Proficiency in using laboratory and testing equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
