Role Overview:
The Hub Supervisor, reporting to the Facilities Manager and working closely with the Supply Chain Coordinator and Customer Relations Administrator, will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the distribution hub and managing driver colleagues at the site. The role includes ensuring the safe and timely receipt, management, and delivery of products to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely drive in full compliance with traffic regulations and internal procedures.
  • Uphold the company's reputation by driving courteously and responsibly.
  • Maintain a valid driving licence as required by law for the type of vehicle operated.
  • Adhere to weight limits for vehicles and ensure load security and safety.
  • Maintain awareness of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Distribution Practice (GDP).
  • Conduct vehicle checks, ensuring serviceability and cleanliness.
  • Select the correct product for delivery and ensure accurate completion of stock sheets and documentation.
  • Treat faulty or suspect products according to procedures, prioritising safety.
  • Undertake training in the use of counterbalance Forklift Trucks as required.
  • Manage driver schedules, approve overtime, and plan for holiday cover.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and escalate issues where necessary.
  • Conduct audits and service visits to customer sites as required.
  • Assist with recruitment, training, and refresher training of driver colleagues.
  • Support the timely completion of insurance paperwork for vehicle accidents.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong ability to prioritise tasks and work independently under deadlines.
  • A team player with excellent communication skills to interact with colleagues and customers.

Qualifications:

  • GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English.
  • A valid UK driving licence and eligibility to work in the UK.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Fleet management awareness.
