About the business: Our client is a leading engineering firm with extensive experience in fabrication, modification, and maintenance of pipework, steelwork, and mechanical plant items. Their main office and fabrication facility are situated in Northumberland, just to the North of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. The facilities include a large fabrication shop, a storage unit and an expansive laydown area.
The business has a fantastic reputation for servicing many industries, including Pharmaceutical, Off-Shore Oil & Gas, Chemical / Industrial, Nuclear and more.
Role Overview: The successful candidate will oversee the fabrication, erection, and maintenance of pipework projects, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate pipework projects from inception to completion
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations
- Manage and mentor a team of skilled workers
- Liaise with clients to understand project requirements and provide regular updates
- Maintain accurate project documentation and reports
- Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within the pipework or related industry
- Strong knowledge of fabrication and erection processes
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Commitment to safety and quality standards
