Are you a talented Mechanical Fitter with a passion for engineering and a knack for problem-solving? Our client, an industry-leading engineering company, is seeking an experienced individual to join their team.

Salary: £32,000 - £45,000 Annually (Inclusive of Bonus and Overtime)

Shifts: Day Shift - Monday - Friday

Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and repair of cargo handling plant equipment, including Forklift Trucks (FLT), Cranes, and Heavy Plant Machinery.
  • Conducting regular servicing and ensuring effective repairs to equipment.
  • Stripping down and rebuilding motors.
  • Changing pistons and spark plugs (not part of a fixed unit).

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in the maintenance and repair of cargo handling plant equipment, such as FLT, Cranes, and Heavy Plant Machinery, is highly advantageous but not essential.
  • Proficient in stripping down and rebuilding motors.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow safety procedures and comply with health and safety guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • A relevant trade certificate or diploma in engineering would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Any additional certifications related to cargo handling equipment maintenance are highly desirable
