Are you ready to take your purchasing skills to the next level? We are looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join our dynamic team on a temporary, part-time basis. If you're passionate about procurement and love working in a collaborative environment, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

What You'll Do:

As a Purchasing Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our production and project teams. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating closely with production, stores, estimating, sales support, accounts, and projects departments to ensure seamless operations. ??
  • Preparing and issuing orders to suppliers while ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints.
  • Negotiating costs and comparing quotes from alternate suppliers to get the best deals! ??
  • Providing vital information to the Projects department about delivery dates and budget-related issues.
  • Pricing goods and materials accurately in our system to ensure correct accounting within contract costing.
  • Collating information for stock control and resolving any discrepancies with stores and accounts.
  • Maintaining stock levels of stationary and office equipment to keep everything running smoothly. ???
  • Arranging the hire and off-hire of site equipment and vehicles, including liaising with insurance companies when necessary.
  • Resolving invoicing queries with suppliers and the accounts team to ensure a clear and efficient process.
  • Performing general administration tasks as required, supporting our team wherever you can. ??

Who You Are:

  • You have a GCSE/BTEC level education (or equivalent).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are your superpowers! You thrive on building professional relationships at all levels.
  • You're computer literate and comfortable using Microsoft Office Packages.
  • Previous purchasing experience, giving you a head start in this role.
  • Experience with Navision and Sage - Desirable
