Here at GSL education in Newcastle we are delighted to be working alongside a setting in Blyth and are looking for an exceptional Secondary TA .
The setting believes in the potential of every young person and aims to re-engage learners back into mainstream education.delivering a range of programmes that help develop each students character, their confidence and self-awareness. At the end of their time here the students are more employable, have a better understanding of the importance of learning , have greater awareness of their own skills and abilities and are ready to make positive progressions. The students are not accessing mainstream education for various reasons- some related to learning and behaviour difficulties
The ideal candidate will work as part of a friendly and supportive team assisting young people on their chosen programme. You will be a strong and resilient behaviour manager, able to build rapport and set clear boundaries.
This will be an immediate start and is Long term !
This is a really interesting and varied role and we are looking for someone who has either TA experience in a similar setting or someone who wants to work in this area of education.
This role has a strong chance of going permanent for the right candidates
Requirements of the role
- Be able to work effectively alongside tutors providing emotional and academic support for pupils
- A passion for helping reluctant learners
- SEMH knowledge desirable but not essential
- Good level of Maths and English
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or the willingness to complete an application
- Kindness, enthusiasm and proactivity with great organisational skills
- Previous experience of working in schools or childcare settings
- Confident , friendly and hardworking
- The ability to build rapport quickly and develop positive and trusting relationships with pupils
