About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Furniture Retail Supervisor to join our ever growing retail team in Byker. Our Furniture Retail Supervisors report to the Operations Director and take operational responsibility for the day to day running of the Charity Shop, including opening and closing, managing stock, achieving sales targets, managing a fleet of delivery vehicles, managing finances and leading a team of both staff and volunteers

This is a rounded role that requires integrity, honesty, excellent customer service, innovation, and the ability to engage and motivate a team. The Furniture Retail Supervisor will help to maximise shop performance and ensure a safe, clean, happy and attractive environment for our team to work in and for our customers to shop in.

Candidates should be available for interview during week commencing 2nd September 2024.

About you

  • You will have experience of working in a supervisory role within the retail industry and will enjoy working in a busy environment.
  • You will have experience of leading and motivating a team to successfully reach sales targets and KPI's
  • You will be passionate about driving sales and delivering the best possible customer service.
  • You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
  • You will have experience of record keeping and cash handling.
  • You will pride yourself on merchandising standards and the presentation of your store.
  • As well as having good levels of literacy and numeracy, you will have experience of using EPOS systems.
  • The ability to travel and provide cover at our stores in Blyth and Blaydon is essential
  • Experience of using online platforms, such as Facebook, Gumtree and eBay to increase online sales is advantageous.
