(salary based on qualifications and experience) pro-rataOur client is seeking a Health & Safety Technician to support the Roads Team across Sutherland, Caithness, and Ross-shire. This role will provide vital Health & Safety guidance and coordination to operational Roads Teams, ensuring a strong focus on safety compliance in the workplace. You will act as a key link between the Roads Team and our client's Occupational Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Team.Job PurposeAs part of this role, you will:路 Provide coordination with the Occupational Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Team.路 Assist Area Teams in developing Risk Assessments and Method Statements for all Roads Maintenance activities.路 Monitor and support the annual review of Risk Assessments.路 Create and maintain Toolbox Talks for Roads Maintenance activities.路 Develop and maintain a Roads Health & Safety SharePoint library and HAVs database for equipment.路 Coordinate the delivery of Toolbox Talks and ensure attendance is recorded.路 Develop and manage Health & Safety inductions for Roads Operatives.Person SpecificationEssential Requirements:路 Experience in a construction environment.路 Experience preparing Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Toolbox Talks.路 Valid driving license.路 Strong organisational and planning skills to meet deadlines.路 Ability to adapt to changing priorities.路 Good IT skills and ability to use technology effectively.路 Logical problem-solving approach.路 Commitment to public service.路 Ability to achieve set targets.Desirable Skills:路 Experience in a roads maintenance environment.路 Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations.路 NEBOSH or IOSH qualification, or similar (e.g. Site Management Supervision).Start Date: Tuesday, 8th OctoberTravel: You will be expected to travel efficiently between various locations across Sutherland, Caithness, and Ross-shire.Health & SafetyAll employees are expected to:路 Familiarise themselves with Violent Incident and Accident reporting procedures.路 Undertake ongoing Risk Assessments.路 Understand and comply with the our client's Health & Safety Procedures.Apply now to play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of the Roads Teams in the Highland area!
