ITS Group are a leading Construction Recruitment Specialist supplying staffto construction clients for over 50years.
On behalf of our client we are looking for an experienced site manager based preferrably in central Cornwall with a commercial fit-out or building services background to undertake a roving site manager role across Cornwall and into Devon
This is minmum 6 months starting Jan 2025 with the potential for the role to lead to apermament position
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the overall management and on-site activity of multiple projects.
- Management in the short-term construction and scheduling programme to maximise efficiency and ensure completion is in accordance with the schedule.
- Management of subcontractors, dealing with any issues as and when required.
- Delivery of projects on time and to a high specification.
- Coordinating the setup of temporary site accommodation and welfare facilities.
- Liaise with various stakeholders, including local authorities, safety inspectors, and other site personnel, to support efficient project delivery.
- Site H&S management including site inductions, toolbox talks etc. to ensure all relevant Health & Safety requirements are met.
- Chair site progress meetings, providing regular updates to Project Manager.
Role Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Manager or similar role within commercial projects.
- Knowledge of building remedial works, building services, minor civil and structural works and experience supporting construction activities.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent understanding of Health & Safety standards, including compliance requirements.
- Relevant construction qualifications, such as SSSTS, SMSTS, First Aid at Work, and a valid CSCS card.
- Good communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
- A proactive approach to supporting the successful delivery of construction projects
- Must be a motivated, enthusiastic and driven individual with a passion for high-quality delivery.
- Full UK driving license is essential as the role will involve driving to mulitple projects within the Southwest, primarily Cornwall
- A H&S qualification i.e. IOSH managing safety or NEBOSH general certificate would be preferable
- Proficient in using Microsoft including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
