My Client, the South's leading independent Fire Systems Company requires an experienced multi-skilled Fire & Security Alarm engineer to join their current and highly skilled team with a 4-day working week and generous package this is a great opportunity for a talented Alarm Engineer to join the team

The Role:

  • Install, Service, and the commission of intruder alarms, CCTV (IP & analogue), and access control systems.
  • Install, Service, and commission a wide variety of both conventional and addressable fire alarm systems.
  • Interpretation of system design, ability to liaise with other building service suppliers, understanding of relevant electrical safety issues, and commissioning of fire protection systems, in accordance with BS5839 or the applicable standard(s).
  • Carrying out small works concerning system additions and alterations by BS5839/BS5266 or the relevant standard(s) as applicable.
  • Responding to system breakdowns.
  • Servicing/Maintenance and fault finding of both conventional and analogue addressable Fire Detection Systems, EVC, Intruder, CCTV, Access control, and Emergency Lighting to the required standard(s).
  • Working on industrial, commercial, public and retail contracts.
  • Working on a range of fire systems both conventional and addressable
  • Ensuring that the appropriate set of spares, consumables and test kits required to complete assigned calls are available on the company vehicle provided, before setting off to complete calls
  • Attending out-of-hours calls on a 1 in 6 rota basis
  • Working in accordance with the relevant British & European Standards.

You:

  • Excellent communication and customer relation skills.
  • At least 5 years of Fire & Safety industry experience
  • A flexible attitude to working hours and the ability to work unsupervised.
  • Attention to detail and ability to apply practical thinking in problem-solving.
  • Good knowledge of Fire & Life Safety products, systems, procedures, and all relevant British/European Standards.
  • Knowledge of a variety of conventional and analogue addressable systems
  • ECS/CSCS Card
  • Knowledge of a variety of Intruder, CCTV, Access and both conventional and analogue addressable fire systems:
  • Fire – Advanced/Kentec (Apollo and Hochiki), Intruder – Texecom, Access – Paxton
