Housekeeper

Location: Bognor Regis

Hours: Part Time, 25 hours per week

Salary: £12.60 per hour (Weekdays) £13.60 (Weekends.60 on weekends) and £14.60 (Overtime)

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., with one weekend shift every four weeks.

Our clients who are a well-regarded residential care home in Felpham, are seeking a dedicated and conscientious Housekeeper to join their hardworking team.

The Role

The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and comfort throughout the home, helping to ensure the residents live in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

Please note: Due to the nature of substances used under COSHH regulations, applicants must be aged 21 or over.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of resident rooms, communal areas, bathrooms, and laundry facilities.
  • Use appropriate cleaning products and equipment, observing COSHH guidelines at all times.
  • Ensure infection prevention and control (IPC) standards are upheld, including the use of fogging equipment when necessary.
  • Organise and manage laundry duties: washing, drying, ironing, and distribution.
  • Respond courteously to residents’ requests and support a homely, respectful environment.
  • Report any maintenance or safety issues promptly.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, colleagues, and managers.
  • Assist with stock control of cleaning supplies and maintain equipment in good order.
  • Be aware of and follow emergency procedures, including Fire Safety protocols.
  • Comply with all safeguarding procedures and confidentiality requirements.
  • Complete mandatory training and any additional training as required.
  • Work independently and proactively, contributing to the overall wellbeing of the home.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience (preferably in a care or healthcare setting).
  • A strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A respectful, empathetic, and professional approach towards residents.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Physical capability to perform manual tasks, including lifting, bending, and using cleaning equipment.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
