Train Cleaner

Night Shift Role

Based in Bognor Regis

6-month initial contract with the opportunity to join on a permanent basis.

£14.52p/h

Ganymede Solutions are working with the largest UK Train Operating Company (currently posting revenues of over £8.9Billion the last seven years), who are seeking to recruit a Train Cleaner to join the Train Presentation team based in their Bognor Regis depot.

The company covers the Southeast, Greater London & East Anglia areas – this includes Kent, Sussex, Surrey, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, London & Hertfordshire. As a result of this, they have a large fleet of trains – 516 to be precise, so it's safe to say you will be active & busy within your role!

Ganymede are looking to hire someone with a ‘go getter’ attitude who isn’t afraid to get stuck in and can lead a team by example.

The Role:

The role itself will consist of all aspects of train cleaner duties. This can include exterior cleaning, interior cleaning, hoovering the floors, inspecting/maintaining toilets, etc.

Hours wise, it is a 35-hour week role across a Sunday – Saturday roster, working hours of 21:00pm – 04:00am.

You will be looking after the Southern train fleet which serves the Surrey & Sussex areas. Your role is mainly interior cleaning focused, but here and there you will have to do some basic exterior work also. There is one cleaner per 3 or 4 carriages, meaning you will be working in a team of 4 at most times.

The depot itself is relatively big in its presence with a requirement to be physically fit to move around the depot with no restrictions.

Remuneration & Benefits:

This rail company has on offer the following for contract staff:

• £14.52p/h rate – this will rise to £14.92 after your first 12 weeks

• Overtime is available at the Manager’s discretion
