Job Description:
As a Payroll Accounts Officer, you will be the front-of-house representative for our finance department, handling a variety of tasks related to payroll, sales, and purchase ledger invoicing. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Managing and processing monthly and weekly payroll
- Using Sage 50 software.
- Handling sales and purchase ledger invoicing.
- Providing excellent customer service to clients and colleagues.
- Ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.
- Maintaining and updating financial records.
- Assisting with month-end and year-end financial processes.
- Resolving any payroll-related queries and discrepancies, including checking staff timesheets and Subcontractor Invoices
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Posting Wage Journals
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a busy office environment.
- Proficiency in Sage software.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes and legislation.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a front-of-house role.
- Familiarity with sales and purchase ledger invoicing.
- Relevant accounting or finance qualifications.
