Job Description:

As a Payroll Accounts Officer, you will be the front-of-house representative for our finance department, handling a variety of tasks related to payroll, sales, and purchase ledger invoicing. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and processing monthly and weekly payroll
  • Using Sage 50 software.
  • Handling sales and purchase ledger invoicing.
  • Providing excellent customer service to clients and colleagues.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.
  • Maintaining and updating financial records.
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end financial processes.
  • Resolving any payroll-related queries and discrepancies, including checking staff timesheets and Subcontractor Invoices
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Posting Wage Journals

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a busy office environment.
  • Proficiency in Sage software.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes and legislation.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a front-of-house role.
  • Familiarity with sales and purchase ledger invoicing.
  • Relevant accounting or finance qualifications.
