gap healthcare is currently recruiting for a new and exciting opportunity on behalf of our client based in Tiverton for an experienced Deputy Service Manager.

Our client provides support in residential care, supported living, and domiciliary care for individuals with learning disabilities.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Alongside the Service Manager, monitor, maintain, and provide the highest standards of clinical and personal support and service delivery.
  • Promote independence and choice for the people supported in the service.
  • Support the Service Manager to manage and ensure the delivery of the service’s key quality and safety priorities.
  • Hold delegated responsibility in key areas of the day-to-day running of the supported living activity/service.
  • Direct supervision and line management of a team of Support Workers.
  • Act as a role model, promoting and leading good practice at all times.
  • Perform on-call shifts during out-of-office hours.
  • Role model all aspects of a support worker’s duties and responsibilities.
  • Report back to the Service Manager, maintaining a continual feedback loop focusing on quality, continuous improvement, and learning.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of the allocated group of services.

About You:

  • Significant, recent experience at a front-line management level in the field of learning disabilities in regulated services, which may have included being a Registered Manager.
  • Knowledge of legislation and guidance relating to adults with learning disabilities, CQC regulations, and Health and Safety issues.
  • Good IT skills and experience in maintaining records.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care or a Level 3 Diploma with the willingness to undertake the Level 5 apprenticeship qualification within 18 months.
  • Ability to lead and manage people, acting as a role model in all aspects of people leadership, especially performance.
