Generations People is currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Administrator who has the potential to rejuvenate the department.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in transport coordination, fleet management and logistic administration.

You will play a key role in ensuring smooth operations, supporting the current transport team and helping to maintain an efficient and compliant transport service.

  

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily transport operations, and ensuring efficient coordination of deliveries and pickups
  • Maintain accurate records for drivers, vehicles and deliveries
  • Assist in scheduling and route planning for cost effectiveness and efficiency
  • Monitor driver performance, vehicle maintenance, and compliance with safety regulations
  • Liaise with suppliers, customers and internal teams to resolve transportation issues
  • Ensure all transportation documentation, including delivery notes and invoices, are properly completed and filed
  • Maintain and update the transport management systems, ensuring data management
  • Produce reports key performance metrics, including delivery times, fuel consumption and fleet utilisation
  • Ensure compliance with relevant transport regulations, including working with time directives and health and safety requirements
  • Respond swiftly to breakdowns and vehicle defect reports

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Transport Administrator or in a similar role within the logistics or transport industry
  • Knowledge of the transport regulations and best practices
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast paced environment
  • Driving capabilities would be an advantage but not a game changer
  • Strong computer skills
