What you will be doing as a Finance Assistant:

Working in a busy and varied accounts role you will be liaising with clients and colleagues as well as working with the company’s supply chain to ensure great service. Duties will include:

  • Chasing outstanding debt, reducing outstanding aged debt to within targets
  • Issuing invoices on a weekly basis
  • Performing credit checks and managing credit limits
  • Posting and allocating sales ledger receipts
  • Producing monthly aged debtor reports
  • Processing supplier invoices and managing the monthly payment run
  • Sourcing and setting up new suppliers, negotiating purchasing prices and payment terms
  • Reconciling purchase ledger accounts
  • Completing all month end accounts procedures
  • Producing monthly and year to date P&L reports and MI packs
  • Creating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets to collate company figures
  • Updating weekly cash flow and projecting for future months
  • Assisting the accountants with year end accounts reporting and processing annual corporation tax payment
  • Quarterly VAT returns for the company
  • Providing staff payroll amendments in periods of absence

We would LOVE to hear from you if you have the following skills and experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar all round finance role with the ability to carry out purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control and month end / period end procedures
  • Confident creating reports including P&L, MI and other figures based reports
  • Advanced skills in Excel with the ability to create and maintain a varied range of spreadsheets
  • Comfortable using Xero
  • AAT qualifications would be beneficial
