Financial Controller - SME - On-site RoleAxon Moore are once again exclusively partnering with an owner managed, £65million+ T/O business based in Bolton. This is a fantastic opportunity where you will report to and partner the Managing Director. The successful candidate will business partner all departments heads and be part of the Senior Management Team with the goal of supporting the long term growth ambitions of the business.The role will include:• Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the company, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.• Prepare monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting to the Managing Director.• Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insight and analysis to support business decisions.• Prepare year-end financial statements and manage the relationship with external auditors.• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards.• Manage and improve financial controls, policies, and procedures across the organisation.• Manage and develop the finance team.The ideal candidate:• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with relevant SME experience.• Proven track record in financial management and reporting within an SME environment.• Strong knowledge of accounting software and systems (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage).• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.• Strategic mindset with the ability to contribute to long-term business planning.In return, you will join a fantastic organisation with the opportunity to work closely with the Managing Director and senior leadership team in an established yet growing business.
