We're looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join a growing independent Practice in Bolton. If you're confident with numbers, enjoy working independently, and are comfortable using a range of accounting software, this could be the perfect fit for you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and financial statements

  • Process invoices, payments, and financial transactions efficiently

  • Manage both accounts payable and receivable

  • Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts

  • Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with HMRC deadlines

  • Support the wider accounting team as needed

  • Ensure full compliance with UK accounting standards and legislation

  • Handle all financial data with strict confidentiality

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with clients

About You
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a bookkeeping role

  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles

  • Strong knowledge of UK accounting regulations

  • Proficient in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage

  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office (especially Excel)

  • Highly organised with excellent time management skills

  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive problem-solver

  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team

  • AAT qualification (or equivalent) is desirable
