Job Title: Product Quality Specialist (Methods and Tools)

Salary: Circa £40,000 - £50,000 depending on experience 

Location: Bolton (We may be able to offer a relocation package for this role)

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 1-2 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

Role Purpose:

  • SAP and Software Systems: Lead the integration and optimisation of SAP systems, particularly within the SAP Quality Management (QM) module, to enhance quality assurance processes and support software changes and testing.
  • Data Analytics and Innovation: Utilise business intelligence and analytics tools to solve quality challenges, focusing on predictive and prescriptive analytics to anticipate and prevent non-conformance issues.
  • Training and Development: Develop and deliver comprehensive training programmes to ensure users are proficient with SAP systems and quality management tools, fostering continuous learning and improvement.
  • User Support and System Management: Manage user support requests, incidents, and system updates to ensure smooth and efficient operations and minimise disruptions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement best practices across the product lifecycle to improve quality, reduce issues, and maintain high industry standards.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert support and guidance to users on quality assurance processes, SAP systems, and business intelligence tools.
  • Manage the setup of new users, maintain user accounts, and perform regular reviews to ensure system security and effective use.
  • Lead the development, testing, and deployment of new tools and dashboards to enhance quality management and business intelligence capabilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage software release and change cycles, ensuring all changes are well-documented and communicated.
  • Drive corrective actions and process improvements, leveraging data-driven insights to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Manage SAP/QM configurations and customisations, supporting the migration to SAP HANA and ensuring seamless system integration.
  • Participate in process harmonisation efforts across international teams and contribute to developing a cohesive Quality Assurance strategy.
  • Explore and apply AI and advanced data analytics techniques to develop innovative quality management solutions.

What we're looking for from you:

  • Operational experience in product quality management
  • Experience of working in an aerospace/ defence engineering business – preferred, not essential
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems, and in particular SAP QM / SAP HANA, together with SAP project and change management experience – beneficial, but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Highly self-motivated and demonstrating a determination and persistence to deliver results.
