Class 2 Driver

Are you an experienced Class 2 driver that would enjoy working as part of a double man run team?

Would you enjoy a better work life balance as a Class 2 Driver, working just 2 overnights per week and the rest of the week to yourself?

A great opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Class 2 Driver to join our dynamic team at Martindales Trade Frames. With substantial investment and ongoing expansion, we are a well-established manufacturer experiencing remarkable growth. This role offers the chance to be an integral part of our operations, delivering excellence in service and contributing to our continued success.

Location: Based out of our Head Office in Bolton, with overnight travel.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: Competitive from £25,000 - £30,000 plus bonus + benefits

Shifts are:

  • Monday 15:00pm start, overnight into Tuesday lunch time and back in Wednesday 15:00pm start, overnight into Thursday lunch time. (Both shifts approx. 20 hours each)

Class 2 Driver Responsibilities:

* Safely and efficiently operate Class 2 vehicles to transport goods to designated locations, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies.* Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure roadworthiness and report any issues promptly.* Load and unload goods, ensuring accuracy and security of cargo.* Plan routes effectively to meet delivery schedules and minimise travel time.* Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs, mileage, and fuel consumption.* Provide excellent customer service, representing the company professionally at all times.* Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues or delays.* Comply with all relevant health and safety regulations and company procedures.

Class 2 Driver Requirements:

* Valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence with CPC qualification and have a Digi card* Previous experience as a Class 2 Driver, preferably within a manufacturing or logistics environment.* Clean driving record with no serious traffic violations.* Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and route planning.* Excellent communication and customer service skills.* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.* Physical fitness and ability to lift and move heavy items.* A commitment to upholding the company's values and standards.
