Salary: 74,000 FTE

Position: Responsible Individual RI

Hours: Part time, 16-20 hours per week (with potential to increase)

You will have:

  • Considerable experience in Managing a Residential Children's Home or previous experience as a Responsible Individual
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • In-depth knowledge of Ofsted requirements, children's legislation, and safeguarding policies.
  • Strong experience in developing and mentoring staff teams.
  • Excellent leadership, management, communication, and organisational skills.
  • An ability to commute to site whenever needed

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure the service meets and exceeds Ofsted regulatory requirements and aligns with all relevant legislation, including the Children's Homes Regulations and the Quality Standards.
  • Provide support, coaching, and guidance to Registered Managers, ensuring they are fully equipped to lead their teams effectively.
  • Oversee the safeguarding and welfare of children, ensuring a child-centred approach is consistently applied.
  • Monitor and audit service performance, identifying areas for development and implementing continuous improvement plans.
  • Act as the main point of contact with Ofsted and local authorities, attending inspections, meetings, and reviews as required.
  • Ensure that all policies and procedures align with best practices and legal frameworks.
  • Work closely with senior leadership teams to drive forward the strategic vision and development of the service.
