Our client based just outside Bolton in Greater Manchester are looking for a Trainee Civil Technician. The Trainee Civil Technician will join a small office of 8 friendly people, but part of a company with over 60 staff across 3 offices. Being a large consultancy offering a range of services there is a lot of potential for progression in this role and the company will reward the most successful individual with future development in the industry.

The Trainee Civil Technician will be working for a company that design roads and sewers together with Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies, for a number of residential developers across the north of England, working on a range of drainage projects using AutoCAD package so experience with this is essential. It is envisaged that the Trainee Civil Engineering Technician will either hold a HNC in a Civil Engineering or a construction field or have 1- or 2-years' experience working within AutoCAD in a similar design role.

Trainee Civil Technician Position Requirements

  • Ideally a HND or HNC within a Construction or Civil Engineering
  • Experience with the use of AutoCAD
  • Excellent communicator with ability to answer technical queries from Clients and Contractors
  • Strong inter-personal skills and the ability to be confident and pro-active in liaising with clients
  • Strong attention to detail
  • An enthusiastic approach to professional work and a 'can-do' attitude
  • Willingness to learn and an outgoing, friendly attitude are the most important aspects.
